Summer Piano Intensive The two-week session features daily private lessons with following NYU Steinhardt Artist Faculty members: Eduardus Halim - The last student of legendary pianists and pedagogues Vladimir Horowitz, Sascha Gorodnitzki, and Rudolf Firkusny, as well as a renowned performer. _СТHalim may be the most charismatic pianist to come along since Van Cliburn._Сќ (New York Times) Marilyn Nonken - A widely recorded performing artist, student of new music pioneers David Burge and Leonard Stein, and a specialist in music of the 20th and 21st centuries, she has performed at venues including Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall, and festivals such as the Festival d_СйAutomne and the William Kapell International Piano Festival and Competition. _СТOne of the greatest interpreters of new music._Сќ (American Record Guide) Gila Goldstein - A renowned performer and recording artist, who studied in Israel and in New York with Neuhaus disciples Nina Svetlanova and Victor Derevianko. Performed at venues as Lincoln Center in NY, South Bank Center in London, MusХ©e de Louvre in Paris and Beijing Concert Hall, and festivals such as Progetto Martha Argerich in Lugano and the American Liszt Society. _СТHer technique is fierce and fiery as the color of her hair_Сќ (Pianist magazine, London, UK) Yoo Jung Kim - A student of Nikolai Demidenko and Ruth Nye, a student of Claudio Arrau, Yoojung Kim (_СТ_С_intensely poetic and dramatic_С_with a diamond clarity and precision," Sutton Coldfield News) made her debut with the Korean Symphony Orchestra at age eleven. She has since performed with the Prague Symphony Orchestra, Budapest Chamber Orchestra, North Hungarian Symphony Orchestra, and Wiener Mozart Orchestra, among others, and been presented in recital at London's Wigmore Hall, Vienna's Konzerthaus, and Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall and Merkin Hall in New York. Awarded The Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother Scholarship for her studies at the Royal College of Music, Yoo Jung Kim received a Ph. D degree in Piano Performance from NYU Steinhardt. Manuel Laufer - Manuel Laufer has appeared as recitalist, concerto soloist, and chamber musician in North America, South America, and Europe, at venues including Merkin Hall, (le) Poisson Rouge, Bang on a Can, June in Buffalo, and Festival Atempo. As a collaborative pianist he has participated in the Songfest Professional Program, Franz-Schubert-Institut at Baden-bei-Wien, and Orford Arts Centre Summer Academy. Before joining the adjunct faculty at NYU Steinhardt, he served as a collaborative staff pianist at the University of California, Irvine. Manuel is currently advisor to Festival ATEMPO (Caracas and Paris) and Artist Faculty at the Blueridge International Chamber Music Festival (North Vancouver).
