The University of Pennsylvania is home to extraordinary academic resources, and the College of Liberal and Professional Studies (LPS) is proud to share them with Philadelphia high school students. We believe taking Penn courses as a high school student can inspire great achievements and new explorations, and offer important preparation for college-level academics. To that end, we offer the Young Scholars Program, as well as Penn Summer High School programs. The Young Scholars Program allows outstanding juniors and seniors attending a local high school to take college courses for full credit. In the Young Scholars Program, you can pursue your discipline beyond the level offered in secondary schools, get a head start on your college requirements or explore a brand-new field that interests you. It_Сйs an exciting chance to explore new ideas and experience life in a college classroom. Young Scholars can choose from a variety of courses at the undergraduate level offered by the College of Liberal and Professional Studies. Topics offered include anthropology, economics, English, math, philosophy, linguistics, psychology and many more. For the list of courses currently available to Young Scholars, please view our online course guide. Complete course descriptions and meeting times are available by clicking on individual course titles. Students must apply according to our admissions and eligibility guidelines. Enrollment is subject to the approval of the Program Director, and registration in a desired course is not guaranteed. Students attending City of Philadelphia public and charter schools are eligible for tuition-free participation in the program. Once admitted to the program, students will be able to take one course in the fall and spring semesters tuition free. Whether you_Сйre a local high school student or visiting from elsewhere around the world, Penn Summer offers a broad variety of subject-focused summer academies, the opportunity to take college courses and many other options. Please visit the Penn Summer High School Programs page for full details on available courses, admissions and eligibility.л_
